Message from the Chair | Larry Stopper - April Update 2023

Hello Nelson Democrats,

There's not a lot to report this month.  Please remember to scroll to the bottom of this email for Ann Miche's regular report from the last supervisors meeting.  You will also find the VDOT survey about traffic on Rt. 151, and I urge you to fill it out.  

We had an excellent Democratic Committee meeting on March 23.  Terrific attendance and both Delegate Sally Hudson and candidate for House of Delegates Amy Laufer came and spoke.  Candidates for every office are busy getting their petitions signed and filed over the next few weeks, so I'll have more to report on who's running for which seat in my next update.

The most important events coming up are the two CANDIDATES FORUMS here in Nelson.  Our first in on Friday, April 28, 7:00 PM at the Nelson Center (next to the library).  This forum will feature our two candidates for Virginia Senate, (Delegate) Sally Hudson and (Senator) Creigh Deeds.  Please feel free to come early and help set up chairs.  I expect a good crowd, so come early enough to get a good seat.

The second forum is on Tuesday, May 9, 7:00 PM at Rockfish Valley Community Center.  This forum will feature our two candidates for the House of Delegates 55th District, Amy Laufer and Kellen Squire.  I also expect a good crowd at this event, so come early.
