Still Need to Vote? Here’s How!
If you haven’t voted yet, you have plenty of safe options to cast your ballot:
1. Vote Early In-Person — Now at the Nelson County Registrar's Office, 571 Front Street, Lovingston, Mon. - Fri. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. This coming Saturday, Oct. 31, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. will be your LAST CHANCE TO VOTE EARLY! It’s a fast, safe, and easy way to make your voice heard.
2. Vote by Mail (absentee) -- October 23 was the last day to request a Vote by Mail ballot. But if you already applied it must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, Nov. 3. So get in in the mail NOW! Here are some other alternatives to ensure your ballot is received ASAP:
· Bring it to the registrar’s office in exchange to Vote Early (Oct. 31 is last day).
· Drop your completed mail ballot in the secure Drop Box in the registrar’s office up until 7 p.m. Nov. 3.
· Drop off your completed ballot in the secure Drop Box at your polling place Nov. 3 until 7 p.m.
· Take your Ballot with you to your polling place on Nov. 3. The Election Officer will “cancel” that ballot and give you a precinct one to complete.
Remember: You are not required to have a witness sign your ballot envelope. Your ballot will not be rejected due to a missing witness signature. But do take care and read the instructions carefully!

3. Voting on Election Day -- The polls will be open 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Nov. 3. Click here to find your polling place.
Voters are not required to wear masks. But they are strongly recommended, as is social distancing.
If you already have a Vote by Mail (absentee) ballot and haven’t returned it, you may bring your ballot with you to your polling place. The Election Officer will “cancel” that ballot and give you a precinct one to complete. (See Option #2 above.)
