100 Days to Election Day

Hello Friends,

While these are certainly the dog days of summer, the campaign is on and I know all of us are ready to do our part to stop this miserable travesty of incompetence that’s tearing the country apart and failing in every important aspect.

By the time you read this the Nelson campaign committee will have met to finalize the details on our Vote by Mail campaign.  The volunteer turnout is just fantastic with over 150 Democrats across the county writing to our neighbors, and urging them to get their ballot delivered safely to them at home. Despite what the president repeats over and over, voting by mail (absentee voting) is safe and effective, and fraud is incredibly rare.  You can apply for your ballot right now by going here https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation/Lookup/absentee.

The Webb campaign is also looking for volunteers, so if you’re feeling especially energetic and don’t want to see Bob Good elected, you can go to the campaign website https://www.drcameronwebb.com or click on our Nelson committee campaign alerts when you see them.

SIGNS!  Our 4’x 8’ highway signs have arrived along with our first delivery of yard signs for the Webb campaign. Peyton Coyner and I will start getting them up this week. I purchased an especially large number of them this year, and while I have my usual regular spots for many of them, I need more locations. If you have a good location, or you just want to make a statement to your neighborhood, email me directly at larrystopper353@gmail.com or call me at 434-361-2344 and I’ll come by and set them up. I will also happily deliver the Webb signs. I know I’m tired of looking at all these little Trump signs around the county, so I promise to get them out quickly. I also have a few smaller, excellent signs painted by Marilyn Mars if you want a smaller sign.

Finally, I know many of you are like me, nervously watching the polls while the disaster of COVID-19 unfolds across the county. Meanwhile, this grossly incompetent administration gins up civil unrest instead of trying to solve the myriad of problems caused by the pandemic. I certainly feel frustrated I can’t be out demonstrating my support for the Black Lives Matter movement, or knocking on every door I can find to convince people to vote.

Still, every one of us can do something, because the most important part of any campaign is for those of us committed to this effort to reach out to our friends and family and make sure they vote (the right way of course).  We know how dangerous this man is and we know that when it gets down to the end and he’s clearly losing it could get ugly. We must defeat him by an historic margin, leaving no doubt as to the outcome, and that will take every vote we can muster.  Thanks for joining the effort.
